UNFINISHED BUSINESS

February is the 5th month of the 10-year anniversary celebration. We kicked off October with the commemorative bookmarks and the release of the Madaris Saga. IN SEARCH OF MEN WHO READ ROMANCE ...
There are some out where and the BIG question is why aren't there more? Why is it perceived that men are not reading romance?
Alvin C. Romer, Literary Publicist and Book Reviewer, will be joining us on the Madaris Anniersary Cruise to hold a special panel discussion for men only, to tackle this important topic. If you are bringing your husband, boyfriend, best friend ect, on the cruise please encourage them to participate in this worthwhile panel. A personal invitation will be sent to them before the cruise. This discussion is just one of the many activities we have lined up for all the readers and those attending and we don't want to leave the men out who are cruising with us.
ALVIN NEEDS YOUR HELP . . . A survey will be posted on my website next month. The questionnaire will be used to assure that the panel discussion is comprehensive and well balanced. We are asking as many persons - both men and women - to complete the questionnaire as possible, regardless of whether you are going on the cruise. Your opinion counts!! Please mark your calendar for the first week in March. The questionnaire will be posted then.

In March - In some areas of the country by the end of March there will be an early release of Unfinished Business, Christy and Alex's story. Check with your bookstore to see when they will start receiving their shipment of this special book.
Then in April to celebrate the release of Christy and Alex's story as well as to celebrate the 10-year anniversary of the Madaris Family and Friends, a cruise will set sail on a 4-day cruise to the Bahamas, April 14 to April 18, 2005.
Cover model Carl Holmes (aka. Alex Maxwell ) will be joining us on this cruise so get your cameras ready to take pictures with Alex!! The Celebration is on and I don't want anyone to miss out on this event!! The BJBC is already 555 members strong!
This special group is for my dedicated, die-hard readers. As a member of this group you will get the opportunity to chat with fellow readers; receive special newsletters, hot-off-the press news about upcoming book releases, conference and booksigning appearances, participate in contests (with prizes being given away), and lots of interesting information shared with you.
Also, as a member of this group you will get the chance to participate in our Meet and Greets! One is planned for September in the Washington DC and Maryland areas.
At Meet and Greets we get together for an entire weekend at a designated hotel and discuss books, my future writing projects, I autograph any books you bring with you, we go to movies, attend special events in the area, or just sit around the hotel and chat and have a wonderful time just getting to know each other. So far the group has met for weekends of fun in Atlanta, North Carolina and New York.
Our next Meet and Greet is planned for the Washington DC/Maryland area in September. Other areas being looked at for future Meet and Greets are Las Vegas and Canada. I look forward to meeting the members of the BJBC at the Meet and Greets who will be flying in or driving in to join us for a weekend of fun!!

A number of my readers wrote to advise there is a book being crossed-referenced with my books titled I CAN STILL SHINE by Brenda Jackson.
This is not my book. This is a non-fiction book written by a white author name Brenda Jackson and tells the story of her life that had been filled with all types of emotional and physical abuse before she took a control of her life to make a difference. Amazon has it where you can order this book along with one of my other books for a discount. Evidently they assumed this author and I were one and the same. I have called this error to Amazon, Borders, Barnes and Nobles and other on-line bookstores' attention and hope it will be corrected soon.

NEW SILHOUETTE DESIRE MINI SERIES FOR 2005!!
I will be the first African-American author to participate in the Silhouette Desire's continuing mini-series, The Texas Cattlemen Club. Starting in July, 2005 and running trhough December 2005, there will be 6 books in this series for 2005.
The Texas Cattlemen Club mini-series started a few years ago and the stories center around the rich, handsome and to-die-for Texas cattlemen (and others who are friends or associates of these cattlemen) who formed this elite and exclusive club. To anyone looking in, the club appears to be just a meeting place for rich Texas cattlemen and their friends , but it's more than that. The members of the cattlemen club are men who engage in covet activities to protect the innocent and unfortunate. Their motto is Leadership, Justice and Peace. I am looking forward to adding an African-American to the club!!

MADARIS READ-A-THON
The members are the BJBC are doing a Madaris Read-A-Thon. There is a schedule up on the book club web site under "Files" that lists the books to be read, the dates and the scheduled chats. The books are being read in the order they were written, and I join my readers as we get together and chat about the books.
